Spring Semester Seminar Programme 2010
Contemporary Policing: Issues & Initiatives

This seminar series, jointly coordinated by the Policing Programme at CAJ and the Department of Sociology, Social Policy and Social Work at Queen's University, Belfast pivots on one key question: Where are we in the work of creating and deepening democratic policing in Northern Ireland? The community-based series will explore contemporary issues in policing by examining grass-roots practice in both the community sector and Police Service. Individuals from community organizations, key activists and police officers will discuss their work in the area of policing with a particular focus on initiatives linked to police reform and embedding the pivotal Patten Recommendation 44 ‘Policing with the Community'.
The Seminar Programme 2010 will be held on eight consecutive Tuesdays 02 February through 23 March.
Seminars will run from 1.00 - 2.00pm in the School of Sociology, Social Policy & Social Work
